Ninety Straight Days or So.
//-start of poem-\\
-Bright beaches seem supple
and sandy.
-Sky’s sun rises up
as planned.
-Cute children are running
not standing
-Soon soaking this sun
so grand.
-Since everyone's laughing
and sharing,
-Since no one has lack
of air,
-They’re joyous and happy
and caring.
-They’re fond of this slack
affair.
-’Tis summer in cities
and seashores.
-Sharp sunshine has hit
tall trees.
-Proud parents are sitting
and seeing
-Fast offspring so fit
and free.
-Since everyone's laughing
and sharing,
-Since no one has lack
of air,
-They’re joyous and happy
and caring.
-They’re fond of this slack
affair.
-Night’s dreams now seem hazy
yet flowing
-Soon seeing sun’s rays
aglow.
-Slow summer seems lazy
yet growing
-For ninety straight days
or so…
-Since everyone's laughing
and sharing,
-Since no one has lack
of air,
-They’re joyous and happy
and caring.
-They’re fond of this slack
affair.

My brother blurted an off-the-cuff rhyming stanza that sounded a bit interesting but did not have consistent meter. I decided to dabble with his verse. This is what came out. It is not very similar to his original musing (his utterance inspired me to create this strange meter). Notice the rhyming in places that are a bit unexpected (of course, some of those are "loose" rhymes...). I sacrificed a little storyline to get more rhyming, meter, and alliteration in this poem.
I think this poem would be good as lyrics to a song. If you want to help me write the music for this (I will pay or share profits) please send an email to > Roamoff@JustPlainPoetry.com.
I will write a personalized poem just for you. Go to > Purchase, Services (Services from Poet Roamoff) to see how to order one (and how to provide information I will use to write the poem).
