It is Tough to Write.
//-start of poem-\\
It is tough to write
When the mood is wrong.
Not much stuff comes out.
It’s all crude and dumb.
Ev’ry line is sick.
Ev’ry verse is dead.
I keep tryin’ to write.
Yet I curse instead.
This damn poem goes on.
But it’s not that good.
I stay home all day
In a rotten mood.
I wish words would flow.
But my thoughts are dumb.
I hear birds outside,
There are lots of them.
Should I write 'bout birds?
Will it sound ok?
It’s so trite and wrong
What I pound that day.
Should I throw it out?
Will its rhyme be wrong?
Will it flow or drag?
Will it chime like song?
It is all askew.
And its words are thin.
Should I call it dead
And watch birds again?
It just makes no sense.
And it sounds so dead.
And it takes the cake
While it pounds my head.
It is so absurd.
And I hate it so.
And its flow is dumb.
And I rate it low.
Can I fix its rhyme?
Am I brave to try?
Can I mix in stuff
That will save its hide?
If you know a way
To correct this poem
Will you show me how?
(Don’t connect by phone.)
Use my e-mail link
And please let me know.
I will see your words
And will set it so.

Like all authors, I go through long stretches of writer's block. I wrote this one about that. I hope it shows irony since it has a "tough to write" structure that imposes mid-line repetition or rhyming.
I will write a personalized poem just for you. Go to > Purchase, Services (Services from Poet Roamoff) to see how to order one (and how to provide information I will use to write the poem).
