The Meaning of Hell.
//-start of poem-\\
Is there life after death?
What’s the meaning of life?
Once you’re dead what is left?
All these doubts can cause strife.
Soon after you’re conscious
You start Kindergarten.
You’re in such a big rush.
The rat race is startin’.
You can’t enjoy childhood
’Cuz schoolwork is looming.
You think you don’t look good
You’re so busy grooming.
You hate adolescence.
You think you’re too gawky.
You can’t trust your few friends.
They think you’re too stocky.
You finally leave high school
And move onto college.
Professors are so cruel
They force feed you “knowledge”.
You get your diploma
And enter the workforce.
You’re in Oklahoma.
(You’re married of course-course.)
You’re working at two jobs
To pay for your mortgage.
Your bosses are true snobs
Harassing ’til old age.
As years passing too fast
As kids having long gone
It's quiet at long last
You’re finally alone.
While ogling your wife
While heart is attacking
While pondering your life
It’s meaning you’re lacking.
While lapsing in comas
While going straight to hell
You’re in Oklahoma's
Six-six-six-foot deep well.

I did not intend this poem to be tongue-in-cheek. A drawback of structured poetry is that sometimes the imposed structure can take the poem in a direction not originally intended. I originally started this poem to seriously discuss the meaning of life.
I will write a personalized poem just for you. Go to > Purchase, Services (Services from Poet Roamoff) to see how to order one (and how to provide information I will use to write the poem).
