Boo!

It’s dark outside.  Monsters abound.
You’re very still.  You make no sound.
You try to hide.  You hesitate.
You lose your will.  You could be bait!
  
The thing draws near.  You feel its breath.
Your hair stands straight.  You fear of death.
Then lights appear.  They’ve come to save!
It’s not too late.  Why weren’t you brave?
  
You then recall  what day it is.
The treats they gave  give hints of this.
So since it’s Fall,  cute costumes gleam:
Sweet monsters crave  on Halloween.
